5. Ensure tubing passes right over eye of hook...

The Hunter Killer Mk1by Lee Cummings
1. When doubling the mount, ensure that the needle goes well up inside and into the bottom of the eye loops frayed end before coming out of the side... If you only go as far as the end of the first loop with the needle point "or just short of it" before coming out,.. the braid usually slips back a bit when pulled tight and leaves only one diameter thickness in the middle. This causes the snake to sag.
Below is an in depth guide as to how I tie the snakes, using the example of the glow in the dark variant ....Prompted by the original idea from Paul Hopwood.
2. Double braided loop right through, nice and rigid. Note the position where needle entered braid to make second loop for hook, In relation to the eye loop, both loops run parallel...

9. Add flash materials to back of bead
7. Strong nylon again for threading on steel glow bead...

3. Cut tubing to length...length of braided loop minus 3-5 mm

6. Whip for extra strength "Preference" Maybe add a bit of tail flash!
4. Strong nylon and hook support, wet braided loop with spit to ease on tubing....... Watch your fingers

8. Whip base front and back of glow bead without vice. Try to form nice taper on front thread, you will see later...
10. The fly with added flash
11. Tie in a sparse dressing of bucktail
12. Add a pair of Jungle Cock eyesand varnish.
13. The finsihed fly!
